A Regal Crown Coaster
Those of you that know me, will know I have a fascination for Crowns in Lace, more particularly the Coronation Lace which is displayed at Cowper & Newton Museum, Olney, Buckinghamshire, UK. I have researched about this piece of lace which has led me down several rabbit holes!
So, this had me thinking, should I design a 21st Century commemorative version for future Coronations? Just a length of lace as per previous pieces worked historically, which will be enhanced with ‘Sparkle’ bringing it right up to the more modern day. Clearly, I had to rise to the challenge, and this was achieved.
As this piece was my own personal interest, I felt that I should share part of this journey with other lacemakers. So, I created a coaster that fits beautifully in a glass coaster (75mm x 75mm) available from www.roseground.com.
Please note this is sadly not for a complete beginner, but for the more seasoned lacemaker with a knowledge of Gimp work.
